What’s the difference between green snap, wind, and extra harvest expense coverage?

Green Snap

Green snap provides coverage for a broken or severed stalk at a node above the brace roots and below the ear.

Wind

Wind provides coverage for flattening, bending, or breaking of the stalk.

Extra Harvest Expense

Extra harvest expense coverage provides coverage for the extra expenses in harvesting a crop that has wind damage.

You would purchase either green snap coverage or wind coverage. Wind coverage includes green snap.

Then you have the option to purchase additional extra harvest expense coverage to enhance your green snap or wind coverage. Only select companies offer extra harvest expense coverage as a stand alone coverage.

Expiration dates may differ between crop insurance policies: October 1st, 15th, or November 1st.
