The One Big Beautiful Bill included changes to the share that farmers will pay for crop insurance products in 2026.

Area- Based Plans

The Area-Based Plans will see the biggest changes.

SCO & ECO’s subsidy will go from 65% to 80% in 2026. In 2025, the subsidy increased from 44% to 65%. You can see these changes is making a major impact to these product premiums from 2 years ago.

The new product, MCO, will also have a subsidy level of 80%. Whereas Margin Protection’s subsidy level has not changed from 44%.

Individual-Based Plans

The Individual-Based Plans, like Revenue Protection, will also see some relief in the farmer share of the premium.

If you elect a coverage level at 75% or below, the premium subsidy will increase 5%. The 80% and 85% coverage levels will see 3% increase in subsidy.
